Adhesive is Drying on Areas Without Ink

Problem Description:

Adhesive is drying on the film, but there is no ink in the areas that it is drying on.

Solution:

There are a few possible causes of this problem. It is either due to the flapper being set too low, or it is because the humidity is out of balance in the printer room, or possibly both. First off, let's look at the flapper.

If the flapper is set too low, it won't knock off enough of the powder when it taps the film.  This is an easy fix, simply turn up the flapper a bit.

As for the humidity, if the humidity is too high, moisture can form on the film.  This is often due to a humidifier being too close to the film roll.  Move the humidifier(s) away from the film area, and check the film by hand to see if you feel any moisture.
